Wobbling, humming, stuck on one speed, or dead. It is almost never the fan itself. Usually it is the mount, a capacitor or the wall switch, and none of those need the new fan somebody is about to sell you.
A new fan, or swapping out a light fixture for one. The whole job turns on whether there is a fan-rated box up there. In the postwar houses across Chamblee and Smyrna there usually is not, so it gets braced first and then it never wobbles.

Usually not. Most of the time it is one tripped GFCI upstream that everything else on that circuit runs through, and it is almost always in a garage, a bathroom or an exterior wall where nobody thinks to look. It is worth a phone call before anyone starts talking about a panel.
A service upgrade, a new subpanel or anything that needs a permit pulled goes to a licensed electrical contractor, and we will say so. Ceiling fans, GFCI and switch repair, light fixtures, recessed cans and EV charger installs are ours.
Yes. The thing that decides how the job goes is the run from your panel to where the car actually parks, plus whether the panel has room. Send a photo of the panel and one of the parking spot and we can usually tell you on the phone how it will go.
For the work on this page you do not need one, and that is the honest line between a handyman and an electrical contractor.
